Ordering Information

This test measures reducing substances and looks for suspected classical galactosaemia and other defects in galactose metabolism. Reducing substances (glucose, lactose, maltose, fructose and galactose) are not normally present in urine. A blood galactoscreen is preferable for the diagnosis of galactosaemia.

Faecal Reducing Substance testing is preferred over urine testing.
