Changes to My Health Record – Pathology Results
From 1st July 2026, changes to My Health Record legislation will give patients faster access to their pathology results.
All Austin Health Pathology results will be automatically uploaded to My Health Record within 24 hours of being finalised, unless an exception applies. Most results will be available to view once uploaded, however, some reports may restrict access for 5 days.
Exceptions to automatic upload
Results will not be automatically uploaded to My Health Record in the following circumstances:

You have chosen to opt out of automatic upload, either by indicating this on your pathology request form or by updating your preferences in the My Health Record platform.

You do not have a My Health Record.

Unforeseen technical or system issues prevent results from being uploaded.
Changing your consent

If you wish to change your consent after results have been uploaded, you can do so via your MyGov account or by contacting the My Health Record support line on 1800 723 471 (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week).

Incorrect results
If you believe results have been incorrectly uploaded to your My Health Record, please contact Austin Pathology on (03) 9496 3100 (Available Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm).
