AUSTIN PATHOLOGY has a small dedicated team to manage the Pathology Laboratory Information System and external client IT needs where they interact with the pathology service. The Pathology IT team works in close collaboration with the expanded expertise and resource base of the Austin Health IT Department.

Delivery of results is a key component of the work in Pathology IT and whilst paper and faxed reports are available, Austin Pathology encourages and supports the delivery of electronic results to health organisations and to GP and Specialist Practices in the community who send pathology testing to Austin Pathology. 

Results can also be accessed electronically from any PC with internet access using a product called CIS (Clinical Integration System). Clinicians who wish to access results via CIS should complete the registration form found in the "Forms" menu.
